攝計師真心不騙評價：在元朝時，中國曾兩度發兵攻打日本，因福岡是離中國最近的港口之一，所以蒙古軍從志賀島上岸，卻因颶風而以失敗告終，此塔即是為紀念當時去逝的蒙古軍而建。

Yingting Shih’s Review Summary: During the Yuan Dynasty, China had twice sent troops to attack Japan. Because Fukuoka was one of the nearest ports to China, the Mongolian army landed from Shika Island. However, the attack was not successful because of the sudden hurricane. This tower is to commemorate the Mongolian army that died at that time.
