攝計師真心不騙評價：這是亞洲最大的分洪道，主要是為了讓基隆河在雨水過多時，可將洪水排入海中，以避免下游淹水。雖然這裡只能看到出水口，但仍值得一看。
Yingting Shih’s Review Summary: This is the largest diversion channel in Asia, mainly to allow the Keelung River to discharge floodwater into the sea when there is too much rain, so that the downstream can be protected from flooding. Although you can only see the water outlet here, it is still worth a look.

左手邊有說明牌。員山子分洪道是亞洲最大分洪道，可將基隆河八成左右洪水排入東海，讓下游北北基地區800萬人免於淹水之苦。
走到底就是分洪道出水口。
